To lock a chat in WhatsApp for extra privacy, you can use the Chat Lock feature that allows you to secure specific chats with your phone's biometric or PIN authentication. Here's how to lock a chat in WhatsApp:
On Android or iPhone:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to lock.
- Tap on the contact's or group name at the top to open the chat information.
- Scroll down and tap on Chat lock.
- Toggle the Lock this chat with fingerprint (or Face ID) option.
- Confirm your fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN to enable the lock.
How to Access Locked Chats:
- Once the chat is locked, it will be hidden from the main chat list.
- To view locked chats:
- On the main WhatsApp screen, swipe down on the chat list.
- Enter your fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN to unlock and view them.
To Remove Lock:
- To remove the lock from a chat, go back to the chat info page, tap on Chat lock, and toggle the lock off.
