📌 If you received your OCI before turning 20:

  1. Ensure you’ve updated the passport details via the portal at the time of renewal.
  2. Once you pass age 20, you will need to reissue a new OCI card if the passport was issued after turning 20.

📌 If you're now aged 50 or above:

🔁 How to Update Passport Information Online

  1. Visit the Government of India’s OCI portal: ociservices.gov.in → Miscellaneous Services → Change of Passport Particulars. Visit :-   https://ociservices.gov.in/onlineOCI/

  2. Provide your OCI card number, old and new passport numbers, and date of birth.

  3. Upload scanned copies of:

    1. Current passport
    2. OCI card
    3. (Optionally) Old passport copy

  4. Submit your photo and signature as per the specifications. No fee is charged for this service. 

  5. You’ll receive an acknowledgment email upon successful submission.

      🕒 Processing Time & Travel Considerations

      1. The OCI update typically takes 5–8 weeks.  However, you can travel to India before the update is completed, as most travelers report no issues. Carry the printout of the application acknowledgment, along with:

        1. The OCI card
        2. Your new passport
        3. Optionally your old passport until the update is confirmed.
