🪔 Vinayaka Chavithi Pooja – Ganapati Bappa Morya! 🙏
Vinayaka Chavithi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a sacred Hindu festival celebrated on the Chaturthi (4th day) of the Bhadrapada month (lunar calendar). On this day, devotees worship Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the giver of wisdom and prosperity.
🌺 Pooja Highlights
- A clay idol of Lord Ganesha is installed at home with devotion.
- Offerings include Durva grass, Bilva leaves, modaks (sweet dumplings) – all dear to Lord Ganesha.
- The pooja is performed with sankalpam (intention), chanting of mantras, and offering flowers and naivedyam.
- Devotees recite Ganesha Ashtottaram, Ganapati Atharva Sheersha, and perform aarti.
📖 The Vratha Katha (Sacred Story)
The story associated with this pooja narrates how Lord Ganesha removes obstacles. It includes legends like the curse of the moon and how worshipping Ganesha helped overcome problems through devotion and faith.
❗Traditional Belief
It is believed that one should not look at the moon on this day, as it may bring false accusations or misunderstandings – a belief rooted in ancient puranic tales.
🌊 Idol Immersion
After performing pooja for 1, 3, 5, 7, or 11 days, the clay idol is respectfully immersed in a water body like a river or lake, symbolizing Ganesha’s return to Mount Kailash.

వినాయక చవితి లేదా శ్రీ గణేశ చతుర్థి అనేది భద్రపద శుద్ధ చతుర్థి నాడు జరుపుకునే పవిత్రమైన పండుగ. ఈరోజున విఘ్న వినాశకుడు, బుద్ధి ప్రసాదకుడు అయిన గణపతి దేవునికి ప్రత్యేక పూజలు నిర్వహిస్తారు.
🌺 పూజ విశేషాలు:
- మట్టి విగ్రహాన్ని స్వాగతించి పీఠం పై ప్రతిష్ఠిస్తారు.
- దూర్వా పత్రాలు, బిల్వ దళాలు, మోదకాలు గణపతికి అత్యంత ప్రియమైనవి.
- శంకల్పం చేసి, మంత్రోచ్ఛారణతో గణపతిని పూజిస్తారు.

📖 వ్రతకథ
ఈ రోజు పఠించే వ్రత కథలో గణపతి మహిమ, చంద్రుని తాపత్రయాలు, తద్వారా ఉపవాస పూజ చేసి సకల విఘ్నాలు తొలగిన విధానాన్ని తెలియజేస్తుంది.

ఈ రోజు చంద్రుని దర్శనం చేయరాదు అనే నమ్మకం ఉంది. దాని వల్ల అపవాదం కలగవచ్చని పురాణాలలో పేర్కొనబడింది.

వినాయకుడిని ఇంటిలో 1, 3, 5, 7, లేదా 11 రోజులు పూజించి నదీ తీరం లేదా కుంటలో శాంతిగా నిమజ్జనం చేయడం ఆనవాయితీ.
